I got such bad sunburn after pounding the streets canvassing for the council election. Then later I had to stay at the count until about 1:00 AM.
I didn't win the seat I was contesting, but I didn't expect to. The incumbent Liberal Democrat councillor won by 1224 to my 414 votes. The turnout was very low. We suspect a lot of the commuters from London opted to delay returning home to stay in the pubs.
For me it is not about winning, it's the taking part that counts. I just love the buzz of the campaign.
