Daily Telegraph: Does Britain want to fight Isil or be internationally irrelevant?

Daily Telegraph: Does Britain want to fight Isil or be internationally irrelevant?

Article by John McTernan

'And this is the third and crucial point – are we serious? Do we want to defeat Isil without killing them? If so, just withdraw our forces and pass a law making everyone in the UK call Isil Daesh. If you think that outrage and gentle mockery will win a war then please vote for that. Be my guest. If, however, you think that Britain is not Belgium and that what we do counts for something in the world then follow the logic through. We can be pacifists and not lift a finger to save the innocent. A perfectly logical moral position – though not mine. Or we can act to fight evil. There is no halfway house.'
